ΑΧΑ organized a Prevention Campaign with the support of our Charity. Every day, we all make some mistakes that we ourselves recognise as “acts of stupidity”. These “stupid” things can turn out to be very costly in terms of money, health, even life itself – either our life or that of others’. AXA in Greece has gathered all these little big “stupid” things that we do in an imaginary e-shop to remind us how many of these “stupid” things we choose to “buy” each day, no matter the cost. Discover, one by one, all the stupid things that we do from time to time and try to leave them behind once and for all. Save your own life, the lives of those you love and those who are all around you.

On March 24th Antenna Channel offered in our Organization the amount of € 2.917,76 through the program “Your Face Sounds Familiar”. It is a television show which consisted of 13 Live Shows in which contestants tried, through styling, their stage presence, their movements and of course their vocal abilities, to incarnate a different superstar each time. At the end of each Live Show the player with the highest score offered the money which had been collected from the vote of the viewing public, to a charitable organization of their choice. Mrs. Thomai Apergi, through her participation in this program, has chosen to offer the amount which was collected to our organization.
OTE and COSMOTE celebrated 15 years of charity work by offering 550.000 euro to 17 children’s organizations at a special event named «Day of Love – Day of Inspiration». “Pedtrauma” was amongst the (17) charitable organizations. The amount that was given to the charities was raised from the revenue of the calls made by OTE’s clients during the Christmas Holidays, as well as that of the New Year’s SMS and MMS of COSMOTE’s clients.
For the first time “Pedtrauma” organized an Easter Lottery. The Lottery Draw was held at our offices on Wednesday 9th April 2014 and the response was great.
On April 15th “Pedtrauma” began to participate in a new program. This program, started by the company ANAMET which is active in the recycling of metals, is called CAR4CARE. For every car brought to the company for recycling, ANAMET will pay the amount of € 50 to a charity chosen by the owner of the car, from the list of organizations that ANAMET supports. If you, or somebody you know, is planning to turn in his car for recycling, please visit the website www.car4care.gr under the heading ”Child” selecting ”Pedtrauma”. By choosing our charity you will be helping us to equip the greek Pediatric Hospitals with much needed medical equipment.
“Pedtrauma” participated in the 4th Annual Capital Link CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility) Forum in Greece which was held at the ATHENS HILTON HOTEL, on Tuesday, May 27th, 2014, under the auspices of “The Union of Hellenic Chambers” and the “Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry”.
On Sunday 28th September 2014, “Pedtrauma” took part in the 12th Volunteering Festival which was held at Thissio. Τhe visitors had the opportunity to learn about our organisation and the various projects we are currently working on, and to receive our booklets on Trauma Prevention.
”Odimilia-DH” Publications will offer the proceeds from the book ”Love Unfulfilled” to our Charity.

Annual report 01/11/2011 – 31/10/2012
Dear Members,
During the past year, in spite of the very dire economic turmoil our Country is going through, Pedtrauma managed to open a second Trauma Center in Greece and to continue helping several Children’s Hospitals by offering them much needed machinery and equipment, to the sum of 138,800€. This was largely accomplished through the unwavering support of our Friends and Sponsors.
The second Children’s Trauma Center was opened in the Hospital “P. & Aglaia Kyriakou” in Athens which is one of the two main Pediatric Hospitals in Greece. This Center was funded by the Niarchos Foundation and was inaugurated on the 15th November 2012.
Another major accomplishment was the puchasing of a Labaroscopic Tower for the Pediatric Hospital “Paidon Pentelis”. This machine, sponsored by OTE-COSMOTE, enables doctors for the first time to perform operations labaroscopically on children.
We also managed to buy special equipment for the Intensive Care Unit in the largest Hospital in Thessaloniki, the “Ippokrateio General Hospital”, plus smaller machines for other Pediatric Hospitals.
Medical Seminars
This year Pedtrauma funded a medical seminar for 32 Doctors and Surgeons, which took place from the 10th-12th February at the Pediatric Hospital “Aghia Sophia”.
Education
In 2012 we visited 25 Nursery and Primary Schools and spoke to 3352 children and to 64 parents and teachers, on trauma prevention and continued to give out leaflets on “Safety at School”, “Safety at Home”, “Road Safety”, “Prevention of Burns”, etc.
Events
In the course of the year we held several events:
– In November 2011 the Jewellery store “Armaos” made our New Years good luck charm, the sale of which helped our fund-raising efforts.
– On December 5th 2011 Pedtrauma organized a Christmas party at the “Dali” restaurant. It was a very successful evening both in terms of fun and in raising funds.
– On the 26th August 2012 a Bazaar was held at the “Apollonio” Resort in Porto Rafti. The event was wholly organized by some of the children who live in the Resort and the money raised was offered to our Charity.
Future Goals
The most pressing goal is to create a Trauma Center for injured children at the “Ippokrateio General Hospital” in Thessaloniki and to finance the purchase of more medical equipment greatly needed in some of the Pediatric Hospitals. A list of these immediate needs is posted on the home page of our website. Crete has also requested urgent help for their Intensive Care Unit in Irakleion.
Alpha Bank – Bonus Points
The second largest Bank in Greece, “Alpha Bank”, decided to include Pedtrauma in their list of charities to benefit from their Bonus Points credit card program. We would like to express our gratitude for their help.
Members – Friends – Sponsors
We would of course like to thank our Members and Friends who have helped us throughout the year with their donations and membership fees, and we would like to welcome 3 new Members to our Society.
Without our Sponsors and the donations made to us this year we would not have been able to achieve all of the above.
