Our project during the period 01.11.2023 – 31.10.2024

Pedtrauma is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, which was founded in 1998 in Athens by a small number of doctors and parents. Its sole purpose is to raise awareness on children’s accidents in Greece, reduce their number and severity and to improve care once an accident has occurred.
According to the statistics of the Hospitals and Health Centers equipped by “Pedtrauma”, in 2024 more than 525.300 children benefitted from our Charity’s work.
Our project during the period 01.11.2023 – 31.10.2024
Between November 2023 and October 2024, we upgraded and equipped 4 Paediatric Departments and 4 Paediatric Clinics, while we offered necessary equipment to another 7 Paediatric Departments. In total, we offered 117 machines to 14 Hospitals and Health Centers throughout Greece.
Recognising the importance of immediate access to automated external defibrillators in public spaces, our Charity has donated two automated defibrillators to a Primary School and a Cultural Centre. These devices are vital, designed to assist people who have suffered a cardiac arrest. The specific automated external defibrillators are specially designed to be easy to use by non-experts, providing guided voice instructions for each step of the process.
At the same time we funded seven A.P.L.S. (Advanced Paediatric Life Support), and P.L.S. Seminars (Paediatric Life Support) held in collaboration with A.P.L.S. Hellas in Athens and Thsessaloniki, and A.P.L.S. Crete in Crete. A total of 156 doctors and nurses participated in these seminars, and were trained in the immediate and proper treatment of an injured child. Training focused on assessment, resuscitation and stabilization of the child at risk.
We continued the program our “Education on Trauma Prevention” Program. As part of the program, we held 203 presentations in Kindergardens and Elementary Schools, which were attended by 5.478 children. It has been proven that educating children about the dangers they might face can significantly reduce the number and severity of paediatric accidents that occur.
In order to raise awareness and inform children and parents, we distributed 97.962 brochures with advice concerning the prevention of accidents (“Safety at School”, “Toys and Safety”, “Safety at Sports”, etc) to Kindergarden and Primary School children, to seminars and events, as well as to Hospitals supported by our Charity.

In May 2024, our Charity was honoured by the 1st Paediatric Clinic of the Medical School of the University of Athens EKPA, for its long-standing support of the Clinic’s work.

Future Goals
Our Charity’s current goal is to offer necessary medical equipment to the Paediatric Departments of 11 Hospitals and Health Centres across the country, including the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis, the University General Hospital of Larissa, the General Hospital of Volos, and the Health Centre of Argostoli.
At the same time, we will continue to fund medical seminars for the training of medical and nursing staff in dealing with children’s injuries, as well as the “Education on Trauma Prevention” Program with presentations in Kindergardens and Primary Schools.
We wholeheartedly thank our Members, Sponsors, Donors, and Friends, thanks to whom we were able to achieve our goals for yet another year.
Ensuring the health and safety of children is a priority in our efforts. We continue to equip and upgrade Paediatric Departments throughout the country to ensure better care for every child.
