On Monday, November 18th 2013 the Intensive Care Unit of the University General Hospital of Heraklion, Crete (”PAGNI”) was inaugurated. The I.C.U. was realised through the generous donation of the ”Stavros Niarchos” Foundation.
”Pedtrauma” contributed significantly to this project by offering many of the machines and equipment needed by the I.C.U. Our efforts are on going in order to have this unit fully equipped with all the necessary machinery.
During the ceremony speeches were given by the Governor of YPE Mr Antonis Grigorakis, by the new Governor of ”PAGNI-Venizelion” Mr Nikos Haritakis, by the out going Governor Mr Nikos Kokkinis, by Mr Christos Katharios and Mrs Lenia Vlavianou from the ”Stavros Niarchos” Foundation, by Mr Dionyssios Vrecossis from the Charity ”Pedtrauma”, Mr Ioannis Papadatos from the Charity ”PNOI” and by the Alternate Professor of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the University of Crete and Director of the new I.C.U. Mr George Briassoulis.
