Pedtrauma is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, which was founded in 1998 in Athens by a small number of doctors and parents. Its sole purpose is to raise awareness on children\u2019s accidents in Greece, reduce their number and severity and to improve care once an accident has occurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the statistics of the Hospitals and Health Centers equipped by \u201cPedtrauma\u201d, in 2023 more than 463.000 children benefitted from our Charity\u2019s work.<\/strong>


<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our project during the period 01.11.2022 – 31.10.2023<\/span><\/mark>

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between November 2022 and October 2023, we upgraded and equipped 3 Paediatric Departments and 19 Paediatric Clinics, while we offered necessary equipment to another 9 Paediatric Departments. In total, we offered 273 machines to 30 Hospitals and Health Centers throughout Greece.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also funded seven A.P.L.S. Seminars<\/strong> (Advanced Paediatric Life Support), and P.L.S<\/strong> (Paediatric Life Support) held in collaboration with A.P.L.S. Hellas in Athens and Thsessaloniki, and A.P.L.S. Crete in Crete. A<\/strong> total of 183<\/strong> doctors and nurses <\/strong>participated in these seminars, and were trained in the immediate and proper treatment of an injured child. Training focused on assessment, resuscitation and stabilization of the child at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, we continued our “Education on Trauma Prevention” Program. As part of the program, we held 186 presentations in Kindergardens and Elementary Schools, which were attended by 4.839 children. <\/strong>It has been proven that educating children about the dangers they might face can significantly reduce the number and severity of paediatric accidents that occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the same period, we distributed a total of 68.772 brochures<\/strong> with advice concerning the prevention of accidents (\u201cSafety at School\u201d, \u201cToys and Safety\u201d, \u201cSafety at Sports\u201d, etc.) to Kindergarden and Primary School children, as well as to the Hospitals we have helped.

Awards<\/span>

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April 2023, our Charity was awarded by the 1st Paediatric Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in \u201cAghia Sophia\u201d Children\u2019s Hospital, for its long-term support of the Department\u2019s work over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Additionally, in October 2023, \u201cPediatric Trauma Care\u201d took part in the Bravo Sustainability Dialogue & Awards 2023 with the initiative \u201cUpgrading of the Paediatric Departments of the Hospitals and Health Centers of Greece\u201d in the Bravo Society category. Our initiative was distinguished at the Awards thanks to the votes we received from the Civil Society as well as through the evaluation process of the Institution’s Committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n



<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future Goals<\/span>

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Charity\u2019s current goal is to equip the Paediatric Departments of 9 Hospitals and Health Centers in Greece, including the \u201cAghia Sophia\u201d Children\u2019s Hospital, the \u201cIppocration\u201d General Hospital of Thessaloniki, the General Hospital of Karditsa and the Health Center of Metsovo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, we will continue to fund medical seminars for the training of medical and nursing staff in dealing with children’s injuries, as well as the “Education on Trauma Prevention” Program with presentations in Kindergardens and Primary Schools.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We believe that every child deserves the best possible medical care we can offer! Our goal is therefore to upgrade and equip all the Paediatric Departments of the Hospitals and Health Centers in Greece.
